What do we do?
Cineclub, the young filmmakers network, train professional filmmakers and teachers to set up and run filmmaking workshops for young people. We aim to create a vibrant and thriving network of young filmmakers who create, watch and share films with each other.
How do we do it?
Cineclub offer a range of programmes and projects for young people to learn about filmmaking:
After School Clubs: 1 Term Film School and 2 Term Film School
In this programme a professional filmmaker visits your school to run after school filmmaking workshops, enabling students to make short films which are screened to an audience of peers at your local cinema.
30 Shots and Roving Reporter
A one day filmmaking workshop where young people are introduced to the art of filmmaking and complete a short in-camera edited narrative or documentary film by the end of the day.
The Big Shoot
A one week or two week project designed to take place in the school holidays, where students work with professional filmmakers to learn filmmaking skills and make a short film.
Media Mentors
A 'filmmaker in residence' programme where an industry professional visits your school to help with GCSE or A-level practical coursework or any other curriculum project using film.
Membership
Cineclub offer a range of membership options for schools and youth organisations to join the young filmmakers network.
Why do we do it?
Cineclub enables children and young people to communicate ideas, challenge views and form opinions through the magical medium of digital film production! By making their own low budget films from scratch, young people learn how to become critical thinkers and creative learners.
