The Big Shoot
Up to 20 students are selected by their school to create their own film company. As guerrilla filmmakers they have either one week or two weeks to make a fiction film or documentary!
The focus on both courses is to learn pre-production, production and post production skills on a low budget digital video shoot with the guidance of professional filmmakers. The aim is for students to tell their stories through the magical medium, learning about constraints, creativity, risk taking and team work.
This fantastic opportunity allows students to work as a full scale production team, with every member having an opportunity to learn all the associated skills in creating and producing a film, but also to offer the chance to specialise in a skill that they enjoy the most.
The courses meet the needs of G&T learners as well as providing a platform to engage groups such as underachieving boys, EAL students and pupils with learning difficulties.
